Q. What is this site about?
A. This is a secure location for writers to share their works with their readers for feedback prior to submission and possible publication.
Q. What makes this so secure?
A. There is a double log in process for both the writer and the reader PLUS it is located behind an HTTPS (secure) website location.
Q. What does this cost?
A. An annual charge of $29.95, payable through PayPal.
Q. I don't have a PayPal account -- now what do I do?
A. Contact me directly -- lore AT rolian.com to pay by MO or personal check. When contacting me, be sure to put Emporium Gazette in the subject line or it will get lost in spam.
Q. Is that charge for everyone?
A. No, the membership charge is only for the writer; your readers are free.
Q. How many readers can I have as a writer?
A. As many as you would like but do you really want the whole world reading your work-in-progress before publication?
Q. What makes this so great for me?
A. Again, your readers make comments on your writings and it is stored for you to use at a later date. As a writer you are too close to the work and editing is much easier with other eyes looking at it. You may even make friends with other writers and they can become your readers also, if you so desire.
Q. Submissions? What is that about?
A. You can track your submissions, each rejection, acceptance, etc. You have a personal directory of publishers, addresses, contacts and guidelines. You add it, edit it, delete it.
Q. Anything else to offer?
A. For the writer there is a blog, a chatroom, a gameroom and more will come available.
Q. Why is this blog so great? I already use LiveJournal, Blogger or another BIG name site.
A. This blog is for the writers to share their thoughts with one another. Writers can respond to one another's blogs. Readers can respond to the blogs of their writers AND to the responses of writers to their writer.
Q. Gameroom? Chatroom? I'm a reader but can't access them.
A. The writer paid for that perk. The gameroom is just a place to chill for a bit and the chatroom allows the writer to communicate with other writers.
